Now in their 13th year, the Retail Systems Awards recognise technology excellence and innovation within the retail sector. Winning entries come from retailers and technology suppliers who are leading the way in areas such as mobile, online, payments, loyalty and personalisation.
At an awards ceremony, which took place at The Waldorf Hilton in London on 28 June, Yoyo and it’s retail partner, Caffè Nero, was first presented with the In-Store Innovation of the Year award for the creation of the fully-branded Caffè Nero payments and loyal app, which launched in April 2017.
The Yoyo-powered app has given Caffè Nero a massive edge on its competitors, with the UK’s third largest coffee chain now delivering a seamless and fast mobile payment experience, automated loyalty collection and digital receipts to hundreds of thousands of its customers.
At the same time, Caffè Nero is gaining unique basket data insight into who its customer are, what they like to buy and when. They’re then using this basket data insight to run highly personalised marketing and CRM campaigns through the app, crucially judging success, not by traditional marketing metrics but in actual changes to customer purchasing behaviour.
Notable app campaigns over the past 12 months include the Instant Win Christmas Cracker promotion and the Alice in Wonderland-themed Caffè Nero Easter Egg Hunt – two highly successful surprise and delight marketing campaigns, where customers were rewarded with digital Christmas Crackers or Easter eggs and the chance to win special prizes, including, bonus loyalty stamps, free vouchers, and a year’s supply of free coffee.
Also in the running for the In-Store Innovation of the Year award were JD Sports & TruRating, O2 & 15Gifts, and Wallis & Dressipi.
Delighted with this first win, Yoyo was then thrilled to be named Mobile Tech Vendor of the Year.
The past 12 months has been a stellar year for Yoyo! 2017 saw the Yoyo app move further onto the UK high street, reach 800,000 users and process 20 million transactions to date.
From coffee chains to student unions, to catering outlets, to fast food stores, Yoyo’s basket-level data insight technology is helping retailers and caterers move from transaction to consumer interaction and, ultimately, increased sales.
With the tools to identify every shopper at the point-of-sale, customers are being instantly rewarded through Yoyo based on their purchasing habits, as well as how they choose to shop.
Also in the running for Mobile Tech Vendor of the Year were Mobify, Tulip and Zebra Technologies.
As the ceremony drew to an end ,the final and most prestigious award was announced, with Yoyo and Caffè Nero being named Overall Winners of the Retail Systems Awards 2018.
